Rebecca Grande, 19 Of Upper Darby Township Rebecca Grande, 19, died peacefully on Sept 30, 2012 at Pennsylvania Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family and many friends and had fought a courageous battle against Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma with dignity and grace. Rebecca attended Bywood Elementary, Beverly Hills Middle School and was a 2011 graduate of Upper Darby High School. While in high school, she was involved in the concert choir, string ensemble and orchestra. She was also an athlete, playing soccer and softball and running cross country and track. Rebecca was also an avid reader and finished in the top 5% of her graduating class at UD. In Sept 2011, Rebecca started her freshmen year at Johns Hopkins University majoring in engineering and continuing to run for the JHU cross country and track teams. She continued to try to run throughout her illness, which began in early 2012. Rebecca's hobbies included gardening, cooking, singing, playing violin and photography. Rebecca will also be remembered for her kindness, warmth, intelligence and devotion to her many dear friends. Survivors include her parents Robert and Patricia Grande; older brother Stephen, younger brother Matthew; maternal grandmother Margaret Lukas, paternal grandmother Helen Grande, step-grandmother Dorothy Grande; also many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation/Service: Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday October 5, 2012 9:30 to 11 AM for an open viewing followed immediately by a Funeral Service 11 AM to 12 Noon at Toppitzers Funeral Home in Arlington Cemetery at 2900 State Rd, Drexel Hill, PA 19026.
