Richard L. Tierney Obituary
Richard Tierney June 4, 1955 - April 25, 2014 Richard (Dick) L. Tierney died suddenly on Friday, April 25, 2014. Born and raised in Upper Darby, he was the son of the late John (Jack) Tierney and Mary (McCreesh) Tierney. Survivors: His beloved wife Jeannette (Pickles Pflaumer) Tierney, his sister Elizabeth (Beth Tierney) Budzilowicz, brother-in-law Paul Budzilowicz, and many nieces and nephews and friends Dick attended St. Laurence School where he participated in many sports. He then went on to Monsignor Bonner High School. In the years after graduating, he volunteered his time as an assistant coach of Upper Darby's semi-pro Sharks football team, as well as the girls' softball team at Archbishop Prendergast High School. Dick was proud to work with his Local 845 Brothers as a union carpenter for many years. He was passionate about sports as both a fan and a coach. An avid fan of all local sports teams, he was an especially loyal supporter of Notre Dame's football team. Dick also loved to golf and enjoyed many trips to Myrtle Beach with his fellow enthusiasts. Viewing: Saturday, May 3rd, 9 a.m., O'Leary Funeral Home, 640 East Springfield Road, Springfield, PA. Funeral service: 11 a.m., Sat. at the Funeral Home.
