Robert W. Moir

Roberty W. Moir Sr., 81 Baseball Historian Robert W. "Bob" Moir Sr., 81, of Rosemont passed away on March 11, 2012 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Rosemont, PA. He was the son of the late William and Ruth Craig Moir. Bob was born and raised in the Meadows Section of S.W. Philadelphia. After graduating from John Bartram High School, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Returning home he worked as a Lead Ramp Serviceman for United Airlines for 38 years, receiving numerous awards for outstanding work. His hobbies were movies, history and playing trivia games with his companion Louise Gilbert. His love for Baseball took him all over the country watching Major and Minor league games. Survivors: His children Robert W. Jr. (Debbie) of Prospect Park, Steven G. (Evelyn) of Media and Charles T. "Buddy" (Laureen) of Broomall; grandfather of 6; great-grandfather of 2; dear brother of John (Marion) Moir of Broomall. Visitation: Relatives and friends are invited to Bob's Life Celebration Friday March 16, 2012 10 AM to 12 Noon at James F. Knoetgen of Morton, 746 Kedron Ave., (Rt. 420). Funeral Service at 12 Noon.
