It may be a few years since Sod´s passing but I have to say something about a great guy. I met Sod at Mikes steak shop in Boothwyn. I would often give Mike albums of the Air Force band when as the Daily Times Promotion manager Iwould arrange for their appearing here in Delaware County. One day while at Mike´s, he said stick around Soddy is coming in soon with a Best Hits album of the Four Aces. This was his thanks for the many Air Force band albums that I had given him. We´ll Sod showed up with the Album, that I have to this day. I asked him to autograph it but he wrote The Four Aces on it. When I said autograph with your name, he just said ah you don´t need that. Very humble guy. Years later, when I was driving Motor Coach for Krapf´s to the Casinos in Atlantic City, he would be on the bus, I reminded him of giving me the album and one night on the way home from A.C. I played a tape of music from the fifties and on it was a song by the Four Aces. When he got off the bus, I said "Did you hear your song" He laughed and said "yeah I heard it, I heard it". I love that memory. My last time to see him, was as we both were at K Mart in Brookhaven and I shouted to him in the parking lot, Hey Sod How are you doing, he said fine I thanked him again for the great album that he gave me at Mikes shop. I´m proud to have had this experience with him and that through Mike, he knew who I was. He knew I was a musician and had a band together for many years with all original members. That too made me proud. Jimmy McNamee. Jimmy and The Tropics. Delaware County area.

Sod Vacarro's voice cushioned the sound of the Aces, a soft, billowing and absolutely necessary support under those higher elements of Al Alberts and Dave Mahoney. What an an essential singer he was. May he rest in peace.

I first heard the Four Aces as a young teenager and fell in love with their music. They instilled in me the desire to sing, and as a direct result of their musical influence on me, I am now in my fifty sixth year of singing and performing nationally with The Memories. My music career happened because of the influence of Mr. Vaccaro and his fellow Aces. May he rest in our Lords eternal peace

Mr. Vaccaro was the sweetest, kindest Dad in the neighborhood when his daughter Monica and I were growing up together. He loved his "girls" and he was completely dedicated to them. He will always live sweetly in my childhood memories!
