Thomas Harris Obituary
Thomas "Dip" Harris, 69 Thomas "Dip" Harris, 69, passed at his home on September 1, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was born in Chester, Pa. to the late James and Ursula Scott. Mr. Harris was educated in the Chester schools having graduated from Chester High School in 1962. In 1962, Dip enlisted in the United States Marine Corps being honorably discharged in 1966 where he received the Riffle Marksman Badge, Good Conduct Medal Award, National Defense Medal Award, and the Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal Award. He enjoyed playing cards and cooking crabs. For thirty-eight years Mr. Harris worked as a pulp preparer at the former Scott Paper Company now Kimberly Clark. He retired in 2004. Thomas was pre-deceased by three brothers Robert, James and John Harris and two sisters Shirley Harris and Pearl Tilghman. Survivors: Left to cherish his memory is his wife Mabel who enjoyed 38 years together with 22 wonderful years as husband and wife; 2 sons Thomas Harris Jr. and Anthony Harris; 4 daughters Jo'Ann Borden, Julie Harris, Megan Harris and Mekeisha Johnson; 18 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 brother Leon Harris; 1 daughter-in-law Dianna Harris; 1 son-in-law Attalia Borden; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends Service Monday September 10, 2012 11 AM at St. Luke Community Christian Church, 4th St. & Central Ave., Chester.
