Thomas Steenberg Obituary

1953-2015 Thomas Quinn Steenberg, 61, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 20, 2015. Thomas was born in Darby, PA, son of the late Kenneth and Agnes (Skippy) Steenberg. He was also predeceased by his wife, Linda Salerno. Tommy, or Todd, as he was known to his friends, grew up in East Lansdowne and was currently living in Norwood. He graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School and then pursued his career as a butcher at the Acme and Pathmark, which remained his profession until he died. He was an auxiliary member of the VFW, Post 566, Glenolden. Tommy was an Eagles fan, a Corvette enthusiast and loved driving in parades. Tommy had a sense of humor that always brought a smile to the face of those he met and loved. He was usually seen with his border collie, Cash at his side, a cherished pet, roommate and family member. The beautiful and happy memory of Tommy’s life will forever remain here in the hearts of his family and friends. We are privileged to carry that memory. Thomas leaves behind his loving brothers Kenneth (Anne) and Frankie (Colleen), and his loving sisters Marie DeStefano (Steve), Barbara Fine (Ted) and Diane Woodland (Steve). He is also survived and love by numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and of course by friends too numerous to count. Friends may visit the family on Monday, July 27, 2015 from 8:30am-10:15am in St. Cyril Church, 150 Penn Blvd., E, Lansdowne, PA 19050. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am. Interment SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tommy’s name may be made to We Love Pets, Media Shopping Center, 523 E Baltimore Pike, Media, PA 19063.
