Obituary Condolences

William "Bodie" Baker Retired Sergeant with the Chester Police Department William "Bodie" Baker, age 74, died June 18, 2013 at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media. Born on November 26, 1938 in Chester Hospital, Bodie was the son of the late George Wesley and Grace (Hamilton) Baker. Raised in the Sun Village section of Chester, Bodie was extremely athletic and always active in his community. After graduating from Chester High School, Bodie entered the United States Army where he proudly served his country for three years. Bodie then joined the Chester Police Force, spending most of his career working in the traffic department and retiring in 1996 as a Sergeant. Bodie was currently employed by Berrodin Auto Parts Warehouse, in Wilmington,DE. He loved everything sports related but was especially fond of golf, as he was a member of Penn Oakes Golf Club in West Chester for many years. He also played for numerous softball leagues throughout Delaware County and coached girls softball as well. Bodie was also largely a fan of Old Western serials and music, especially The Eagles. Most of all, Bodie enjoyed spending time with his three grandchildren Brian Jr., Madison Grace, and Sarah Rose, who will forever miss their Pop-pop. Bodie was preceded in death by his late wife Doris (Fazzio) Baker who passed away in 2010. Survivors: Son Brian Sr., daughter Jennifer Tommuscheit (Paul), brothers, Charles (Phyllis),and Richard (Susan), aunt Margaret Furgeson and his very special cousin and best friend Gayle Falaska whom he loved dearly. Visitation: Saturday, from 11am-12:45 am, Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA.
