Sue Marchesani Obituary
Sue Bernardo Marchesani, 86 Sue Bernardo Marchesani ("Sunda"), 86, of Ridley Park, born July 13th, 1927, daughter of Carmine and Carmela Stavola Bernardo, passed away on Tuesday March 4, 2014 of natural causes. Sue was a 1946 graduate of Ridley Park High School where she excelled in field hockey and basketball. Before becoming a full time homemaker and starting her family, she was employed as a personnel manager with Woolworth's 5 &10 in Chester, PA. Sue was a lifelong parishioner of St. Madeline's Church, where she was a member of the Parish Sodality. She was also an active member of the Lakeview Elementary and Ridley South Junior High PTA's. Sue loved and lived for Ridley Park and especially her McCormick Street block and surrounding neighbors where she lived and socialized for over 80 years. Sue was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sue is predeceased by her husband Louis Marchesani who died June 2, 1993, her brothers Michael (Constance), Albert (Elizabeth) and Alfred Bernardo. Survivors: Her two daughters, Maryanne (Leo) Parsons of Chester Springs, PA, and Donna (Arthur) Cronin of Hershey, PA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Matthew (Megan) Parsons of Glenmoore, PA, Mark, Leo and Megan Parsons, and Tom, Jake, Arthur, Ali, Christopher, Michael and Cara Cronin, and two great-granddaughters, Reagan and Blakely Parsons, also survived by her sister Mary (Robert) Curley of Fort Meyers, FL., and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park, PA. Funeral Mass: 9:30 a.m., Monday, March 10, at The Church of St. Madeline, Penn St. and Morton Ave., Ridley Park, PA (Rectory address 110 Park Street, Ridley Park, PA can be used for GPS).
