Ethel Marie Galloway Obituary
Ethel Marie Galloway (nee Goss) Ethel Marie Galloway (nee Goss), born in Curry Hollow, Allegheny, Pa., passed away in Ridley Park on June 23, 2014 after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of Marvin Galloway, adored mother of Nancy and Lori, and coolest grandma of Robert and Adrian. She is also survived by her wonderful sister, Pearl Kunkleman of Dravosburg, Pa. Ethel was a 50+ year member of Ridley Park United Methodist Church. She had been on the church bowling team, and won several trophies. In years past, she would sing and Marvin would accompany her on guitar in the church's talent show. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Ethel was an Old School Mom, but loved to laugh. She loved country music, Monty Python, Keeping Up Appearances, and telling casual acquaintances that one daughter is an opera singer and the other is a pirate. She happily told everyone that God picked out Marvin for her. With their marriage of nearly 70 years, no one would doubt that. Her family and friends will miss her kind heart and gentle ways. Service: Relatives and friends may visit the family from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9th, at the Ridley Park United Methodist Church, 501 N. Swarthmore Avenue, in Ridley Park, Pa. 19078. Her Memorial Service will follow at 7 p.m. Her burial will be private. Contributions: Memorial contributions may be donated to Ridley Park United Methodist Church at the above address or to an organization that provides free cleft surgeries to children in need, at Condolences: May be sent online to Arrangements: are by the Griffith Funeral Chapel in Norwood, Pa.
