Gregory I. Niven of Boothwyn Gregory I. Niven, 60 of Boothwyn, died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media. Born in London, England, he was the son of the late Alan J. Niven and the late Audrey Linsell Niven. Greg graduated from West Chester Henderson in 1971 and attended Penn State University. Greg previously worked at Miller Brothers in Concordville, the Beer Mill in Marcus Hook, and Aston Sporting Goods prior to his most recent years in a partnership at Preferred Sportswear in Collingdale. Greg loved listening to music as well as informally playing and performing music both as a guitarist and a vocalist. He enjoyed spending time with his large family and his dog, Sophie. Greg was an avid Flyers fan and loved to get away to relax in the mountains. Greg was a self-taught guitarist who shared his love of music with his family and friends, in addition to many appreciative audiences at local events and establishments. His siblings, their spouses, and nieces and nephews will treasure the memories of evenings spent singing along and playing a variety of percussion instruments while Greg wove through songs by James Taylor, Jimmy Buffett, the Eagles, and numerous others. He will live on in the hearts of so many through his music. Gregory is survived by his sister Janet Kunkel (Ray) of Camp Hill, brother Michael Niven (Jane) of Coatesville, sister Angela Niven of Chadds Ford, and sister Jacqueline Kakareka (Paul) of Royersford, as well as many nieces and nephews.
