Joan (Gremminger) Gatti Obituary
Former Chester resident

Joan (Gremminger) Gatti, age 49, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on April 19, 2012. Joan was born on January 15, 1963 and spent her childhood in Chester, Pennsylvania.
As the youngest and only daughter of five children born to John and Dolores (Dernoga) Gremminger, she spent many happy days with family and friends from East 23rd Street and Irvington Road. She later graduated from Archmere Academy in Claymont, Delaware where she met and made lifelong friends, including Judy (Kweder) Meeks and Jill (Savoy) Renninger.
After high school, Joan attended Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania. It was at Widener that she met and became dear friends with Joanne Schmidt and Joanne (Kizeik) Buckley. Also at college, in the summer of 1982, she met her husband Daniel Gatti, and would spend the next 30 years with him. Joan earned a bachelor degree in chemical engineering in 1985.
Joan was an extremely bright and talented individual. She was a conscientious and hard-working young professional, developing her engineering skills at companies such as Fischer and Porter and Allstates Engineering. Her interests and activities included reading, running, and spending time at the beach in Avalon, New Jersey. As a testament to her determination and spirit, she completed two Philadelphia Marathons. While her profession, interests, and activities were important to Joan, her life's work and accomplishment was raising her two beautiful children.
Survivors: Joan is survived by her husband, Dan, and her children, Evan and Kristen; mother, Dolores; four brothers: Eric (Stacy), Gary, Brian and Carl (Mary); and many other loving family members.
