Sidney W. Young Obituary
Sidney W. Young, 80 Of Havertown, PA and Ocean City, NJ Sidney W. Young, 80, passed away on May 21, 2012. He was born in Philadelphia, PA. and was a graduate of Roxborough High School and Syracuse University. He served in the U.S. Army Airborne Division during the Korean War. Mr. Young was employed as a teacher and coach for the Haverford Township School District for over 33 years and he retired in 1993. He also refereed for high school and collegiate sports (football, basketball, baseball, and lacrosse). Mr. Young was inducted into the following Sports Halls of Fame: Haverford High School, Syracuse University, Roxborough High School, the 21st Ward of Philadelphia, and the Delaware County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame. Survivors: Loving husband of Sandra (nee Irvine); devoted father of Scott and Steven (Trish); special Pop Pop to Kieran, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Andrew, Matthew, and Brian; brother of Emma Jane Muriph; brother-in-law of George Irvine (Jane). Visitation: Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday May 29, 2012 9 to 10:45 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 2191 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008. Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Sidney W.
