HMCM (FMF/SW) Anna Maria Howell Hoertt, 46 HMCM (FMF/SW) Anna Maria Howell Hoertt, 46, Master Chief Petty Officer United States Navy died at home on September 10, 2012 in Stafford, Virginia. Formerly of Morton, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Ridley High School, served in the U.S. Navy for 28 years and achieved the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration from the American Intercontinental University, her MBA from University of Illinois Carbondale. Anna was the highest ranking enlisted person at the Quantico Naval Health Center in Quantico, VA. Anna served as a medic with the U. S. Marines in Kuwait and Iraq during Operation Desert Storm and the Gulf War. The Master Chief was also instrumental in retrieving the remains of soldiers missing in action since the Vietnam War in South Vietnam in 2009. Anna touched the lives of many young sailors and marines throughout her highly decorated career with the U.S. Navy and dedicated her life to the service of our country and her family. She was predeceased by her Father the late Thomas Howell Sr. and her sister the late Barbara Howell Survivors: her husband, Jeff Hoertt; Mother Anna Howell Kology; Step Father David Kology; her Sisters Lisa DiDomenico, Susan Daleandro, Carol Schumacher; her brothers Thomas, Michael and Vincent Howell and many loving nieces and nephews. Services: will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, September 17, 2012 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel in Stafford VA. The family will receive friends prior from 10-1130 a.m. Internment: will take place in Quantico National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
