Dolores Battiste Obituary
Dolores (Worrell) Rowe Battiste Retired School Teacher Dolores (Worrell) Rowe Battiste, age 80, died July 24, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Dolores was raised and educated in Ridley Park where she graduated from Ridley Park High School, class of 1952, and subsequently graduated from West Chester University and received her Master's Degree in Education from Temple University. She currently was a resident of Granite Farms Estates and previously resided in Westtown Township. Dolores retired from South East Delco School district where she taught 1st grade for more than 42 years. She was a member of Lima United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Edward S. and Violet (Lyle) Worrell and wife of the late Charles Battiste. Survivors: her son: Edward P Rowe, Sr.; step-children: Charles Battiste, Jr. (Cindy), Michael Battiste (Diane), and Sandi Battiste; her sisters: Barbara O'Neill and Linda Craskey; grandchildren: Diane Bohrer (Kevin) and Edward Rowe, Jr.; a loving niece and caregiver: Colleen Stango; and many other loving nieces and nephews. Visitation: Saturday, July 26, from 9:30-10:30a.m. at Lima United Methodist Church, 209 N. Middletown Road, Media, PA 19063. Funeral Service: Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. at Lima United Methodist Church Burial: Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer. In lieu of flowers: contributions can be made to Lima United Methodist Church OR Stango Children's Education Fund c/o Hope United Methodist Church, 1108 Steel Rd, Havertown, PA 19083.
