DELAWARE - Jacquelyn J. Shepherd, 61, of Delaware passed away late Monday evening at Grady Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 9, 1952, in Delaware to Edward and Retha (Wedemeyer) Shepherd.
She retired from the Ohio State University in Columbus after 30 years where she worked in various office capacities including administrative assistant. She loved to sing and expressed this gift by becoming a member of the Sweet Adelines. She also was a volunteer with the Humane Society of Delaware County. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her bird and 3 canine companions Rocky, Tootsie and Bigbee.
Left to cherish her memory is her brother Rod (Lynn) Shepherd of Ocala, Florida; nieces Loran "Lori" (Brian) Merlo of Johnstown and Cyndi (Michael) Evans of Westerville; great-nephews Jacob Oppenheimer and Nicholas Merlo and a great-niece Sarah Evans and her best friend Ruth Ann. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A special thank you to Amelia Hall, Billie Lehner and the Ohio Heartland Chapter of Sweet Adelines for all of their support.
The family will receive friends on Monday March 31 from 11 a.m. until time of Celebration of Life Services at 1 p.m. at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Humane Society of Delaware County, 4920 St. Rt. 37E, Delaware, OH 43015.
