BALLARD Jr., JOHN W. "JACK" - Delaware  
DELAWARE — John W. "Jack" Ballard Jr., 75, of Delaware, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at Kobacker House in Columbus surrounded by his family. He was born on Dec. 24, 1940 in Columbus to the late John W. Sr. and Edna M. (Smith) Ballard. He lived in Delaware most of his life and was a graduate of Willis High School Class of 1959. John had worked as Traffic Manager at Glenwood Range and then had his own business Nationwide Transportation in Delaware. John was a homebody who just loved to be at home with his family. He worked hard to provide for his wife and children and did enjoy fishing, camping with his family. John loved tinkering with things and fixing them. John was proud of his successful career and the successful careers of his family. He is survived by his son, Gary Ballard of Delaware; grandchildren, Olivia and Blake Ballard, Jeffery Emmel; special friend, Cathy Herriott; stepsisters, Debbie Haas, Dorothy Ballard, both of Delaware. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Franklin) Ballard in 2012; son, Mikey Ballard in 2011; brother, Larry Ballard. Private services for the family will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William St.), Delaware. BERGANDINE, VERNA CUSHMAN - Sunbury  
DELAWARE — Verna Cushman Bergandine, 101, of Sunbury, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 14, 1914 in Woodstock, Ohio to Arthur and Mary Cushman. Verna had a love of art, poetry, skilled in needlework, and painting. She was always there to help others in time of need. She was a longtime member of the Sunbury United Methodist Church. She is survived by daughters, Anne Stockert of Rockwood, Mich., Susan Churchill of Westerville, Ohio, Barbara (Duncan) Whitney of Delaware; sons, John of Harmony, N.C., Charles (Karen) of Ostrander, James (Deb) of Delaware, Robert of Provincetown, Mass., and Jeffrey of Columbus; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 10 siblings, five sisters and five brothers; husband, Frank D. Bergandine (1983); and grandsons, Scott Bergandine (1988) and Christopher O'Bryan (1991). Memorial contributions may be made in honor of her childhood church toward restorations at Woodstock Universalist Church, c/o Woodstock Lions Club, P.O. Box 202, Woodstock, OH 43084. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sunbury United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow visitation at the church on Friday at 1 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Sunbury Memorial Park. In charge of arrangements is Robinson Funeral Home, 32 W.
