MARTIN, MELISSA KOPP - Mt. Vernon  
MT. VERNON — Melissa Kopp Martin, 34, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, after a tragic auto accident on 3C Highway north of Mt. Vernon. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 25, 1980. Melissa graduated from Big Walnut High School in 1998. Melissa married Kyle C. Martin on April 7, 2001. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Kali Cunningham and her sons, Andrew and Ryan Martin. She is survived by her loving husband, Kyle; her parents, Michael and Nancy Kopp; her brother, Robert Kopp II; her grandparents, Donna Clickenger and Robert and Ann Kopp; her father and mother-in-law, Benjamin and Jann Martin; her sisters-in-law, Amanda Martin and Michelle (Phil) Smallets; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the Genoa Baptist Church, 7562 Lewis Center Road, Westerville, OH 43082. Please make any donations to the Genoa Baptist Church in care of the Martin Family Fund. Melissa will be buried with her grandpa Lee Clickenger at the Maplewood Cemetery in New Albany. Burial will be at a later date.

McCREIGHT Jr., JOHN W. - Marco Island  
MARCO ISLAND, Florida — John W. McCreight Jr., 82, of Marco Island, Fla., passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2014 at home with his family by his side. John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ellen in 2003 after 46 years of marriage. He found great joy in his family, his faith, his friends, and his neighbors. He was born Nov. 30, 1932 in Greenville, Ohio, the son of John W. McCreight Sr. and Edith Vandervort. He served in the U.S. Marines in Naples, Italy on the staff of Vice Admiral Towner. Following his service with the Marines, John embarked on a career in public water treatment, first serving as Water Treatment Superintendent in Hillsboro, Ohio and shortly thereafter, moving to Warren, Ohio where he accepted the position of Treatment Superintendent and later, Wastewater Department Head. One year following his retirement from the City of Warren, he accepted the position of Assistant Director of Operator Training Committee of Ohio (OTCO), later becoming its Executive Director, an organization he had worked for throughout his career. Following his retirement from OTCO in 1998, he and his wife Ellen moved from Sunbury, Ohio to Marco Island, Florida. John was an avid reader, loved golf, and was a volunteer for many years with Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Naples, Florida. John is survived by his daughters, Pamela McCreight of Calhoun, Ga. and Melanie (Gary) McBride of Cortland, Ohio; son, Kevin (Amy) McCreight of Delaware, Ohio; grandchildren, Ashley Means, Sean and Brendan McBride, Ellen and Colin McCreight; great-grandchildren, Owen, Clay, and Emmalyn Means and Liam and Lochlan McBride. The Neptune Society is providing cremation arrangements.
