Annabel Nutt

Annabel Rodgers Nutt, 97, died April 17, 2014. She was born to Charles Henry and Clara Belle (Pounds) Rodgers on Sept. 10, 1916, in Scioto Township, Delaware County.

Annabel graduated from Willis High School in 1934. She worked as an administrative assistant in the Chaplain office and the CAP Center at Ohio Wesleyan University for 23 years.

Annabel was a member of the First Presbyterian Church since the fall of 1934 where she served as a church school teacher, deacon and was a member of the church library committee since 1984.

She was a patient, caring, independent and loyal person who was a good listener. She liked to read, knit, sew, lunch with friends and play bridge. She grew up in the time when children were seen but not heard and discipline was "you should be ashamed of yourself." She was a member of The Cosmopolitan Club and past member of the National Secretaries Association. She was also a member of the Liberty House which helped with racial relations.

She was preceded in death by her two sisters Monna Rodgers and Grace Cruikshank, a brother Elmer Rodgers and two nephews Dorrance Cruikshank and Herb Rodgers. She is survived by her loving husband W. Harold Nutt and three sons, W. Rodger Nutt, Charles R. Nutt, David E. Nutt, their wives, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday June 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Deborah Patterson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Kitchen Ministry Fourth Thursday Meal fund, 73 W. Winter St.
