Barbara A. Birchfield, 73, of Delaware passed away Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at home.
Born on Oct. 10, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Glenna (Weiss) Sparks. Fifty years ago she married Richard Birchfield; together they raised a family and experienced the joys and trials of life. She was the very best at being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Originally from Radnor she and Richard moved to Delaware in 1996.
In her younger years she and her family attended the Fulton Creek Friends Church. Quiet in nature and easy going, she was good hearted. She collected dolls and glassware. With a contagious laugh, she was hilarious story teller who was always willing to listen. She had an eye for interior decorating and was quick to make a flower arrangement. She treasured receiving cards for the holidays trips to the Broken Arrow and West Virginia were always special. Family oriented, her world evolved around her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and special friends she met along the way.
Along with her beloved husband Richard, those left to cherish her memory also include her children Richard Birchfield Jr., Nathan (Kymm) Birchfield all of Delaware, grandchildren Joseph, Angelica, Nicole, great-grandchildren Aleeah and Khloe, siblings Marjorie Criswell of Prospect, Jay (Martha) Sparks of Radnor, Roger Sparks of Radnor, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her oldest son Joe in 1985.
