Bobby E Herriott(1930 - 2012)

Bobby E. "Bob" Herriott, 81, of Delaware, passed away Saturday (Dec. 8, 2012) at Kobacker House in Columbus following a one-month illness with lung cancer.
He was born Dec. 12, 1930, in New Dover, Ohio, to the late Paul and Cecil (Yoder) Herriott. He was a resident of Delaware since 1999, growing up in Ostrander and residing in Ashley for 30 years. He retired from Ranco Manufacturing as a tool and die maker after working at both the Delaware and Plain City plants for 48 years. Bob enjoyed bowling, golfing, as well as taking long rides to sight see. He was fun-loving and he treasured time spent with his many great friends and family. He was fond of Lake Erie, Port Clinton, and lighthouses. He was easy-going in nature, soft-hearted and always thoughtful. He was a fan of the Cleveland Browns through thick and thin and the OSU Buckeyes. He had a sweet tooth, having a weakness for chocolate and orange sherbet. He aspired to be a pilot until he was blessed with his large family, with whom he was happiest.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 44 years, Catherine "Cathy" (Courter); five daughters, Sandy (Rocky) McCullough of Marion, Cindy (Don) Norris of Ashley, Bobbi (Andy) Dolan of Ostrander, Pam Phipps (Donnie) of Williard, Karen (Curtis) Narin of Kansas; four sons, Tony (Debbie) Deel of Texas, Tim Deel (Dena) of Marion, Steve (Kelly) Herriott and Paul Herriott both of Sandusky; grandchildren, Anna Dolan, Nathan (Becca) Deel, Lindsey Norris, Donnie (Jennifer) Norris, Brandy (Dawn) McCullough, Chris McCullough; great-grandchildren, DJ, Hunter, Connor, and Haley Norris; brother, Jerry (Melanie) Herriott of Cardington; and sister, Becki Cole of Delaware.
He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Lucy (Browning) Herriott; brother, Paul Jr.; sister, Jane Iman; and step-brother, Tom.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on his birthday, Wednesday, at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday with Celebrant Don Lockwood officiating. Burial will follow in Ashley Union Cemetery.
