Chester Klinedinst

GALENA - Chester L. Klinedinst, 83, of Galena, died Monday afternoon June 30, 2014, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware.

He was born on July 2, 1930, in Scottown, Ohio, to the late Charles and Addie (Earles) Klinedinst. He was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church and American Legion Post No. 457 in Sunbury. He was a retired foreman for Willamette Industries in Delaware with 40 years of service retiring in 1994.

Chester's greatest treasure in life was his family and he had just recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. He enjoyed going to his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and time spent on the farm.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Margaret (Oden) Klinedinst and they were married June 27, 1953, in Columbus; son: Chester "Chip" (Cindy) Klinedinst of Sunbury; daughter: Barbara (Randy) Shears of Cardington; grandchildren: Scott (Alison) O'Neal, Jennifer (Frank) Napier, Brittany, Randi Kay, Amanda Shears, Samantha, Chester Charles Klinedinst; adopted grandchild: Jamie Warnock; 4 step-grandchildren; great grandson: Jack O'Neal; 1 step-great-grandson.

Preceded in death by daughter: Cheryl O'Neal on June 16, 1998; 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury. Funeral services will be Saturday 10 a.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church, 15370 Meredith Road, Sunbury, Ohio 43074. Interment will follow with military graveside services in the Blue Church Cemetery.
