Dorothea Wiget

DELAWARE - Dorothea Maxine Wiget, 94, of Delaware, Ohio and a longtime resident of New Vienna Ohio passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Willow Brook Christian Village, Delaware, Ohio.

Her husband, Elvis E. Wiget, preceded her in death June 12, 1997. They were married Aug. 30, 1940.

Mrs. Wiget was born Aug. 20, 1919, in Wilmington, Ohio, daughter of the late Orville L. and Edith Marie Masters Shaw. She was a 1937 graduate of New Vienna High School and a devoted wife and mother.

Mrs. Wiget is survived by two sons, David J. Wiget of Westerville, Ohio and E. Craig Wiget of Delaware, Ohio; a granddaughter, Lisa Wiget of Columbus, Ohio; and a dear friend, Linda Wiget of Columbus, Ohio. In addition to her husband and parents, two brothers, Donald Shaw and Maynard Shaw, are preceded in death.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio, with Travis L. Corzatt officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Heartland Hospice of Marion, 685 Delaware Ave., Suite 200, Marion, Ohio 43302.
