Dorothy Leora Isler

Dorothy Leora Isler, 94, formerly of Prospect died Wednesday (March 20, 2013) at Sterling House of Marion. She was born Aug. 7, 1918, on Klingel Road near Prospect to the late John and Bessie (Rush) Laucher.
On Feb. 14, 1939, she married John Franklin Isler at the Lutheran parsonage in Prospect and he died May 3, 1996. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Bill Laucher and John Laucher, Jr.; sisters Ruby Williams, Esther Hinamon and Geneva Neal.
She is survived by four sons, Gene (Karen) Isler, Delaware; Dick (Connie) Isler, Dublin; Don (Cathy) Isler, Prospect; Bill (Kathy) Isler, Prospect; two daughters, Mary Ann (Tom) Stiffler, Prospect; Marilyn (Mark) McCabe, Prospect; 15 grandchildren, Brian (Kate) Isler, Vicki (Doug) Potter, Brad (Melinda) Isler, David (Lanette) Isler, Scott (Tracie) Isler, Amanda (Tim) Street, Nathan (Alisha) Isler, Bruce (Amy) Isler, Brent (Stacie) Isler, Ben (Samantha) Isler, Greg (Angie) Stoner, Mike (Betsy)Stoner, Kristin (Tyler) Marchman, Janice (Jeremy) Vida, Andrew McCabe; four stepgrandchildren: Jennifer (John) Burbaugh, Andy (Jamee) Stiffler, Matthew and Luke Garrison; 21 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren and a brother, Charles Laucher, Prospect.
Dorothy was a hard-working and loving farmwife and mom, and a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Prospect, Prospect Garden Club. She always enjoyed working with her flowers and her big garden. Her family was especially fond of her homemade chicken noodles and her angel food cake. Dorothy was proud that all of her children are graduates of The Ohio State University.
Funeral Services will be held Monday March 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, her childhood church, 4535 Smeltzer Road, Marion, Ohio 43302. Pastor Ed Wahl and Russell Howard will officiate, friends may call Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, burial will be in the Prospect Cemetery.
