DELAWARE - Earl E. Brown Jr., 71, of Delaware, Ohio passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, in Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1942, in Jellico, Tennessee to Earl E. Brown, Sr. and Rose (Collins) Brown. Earl graduated from Pleasant View High School, Pleasant View, Kentucky. He graduated from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Ky. with a BS degree and a Masters Degree from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio and additional course work from The Ohio State University
, Columbus, Ohio.
Earl came to Ohio in 1961 and began teaching in the Graham Local School District and other school districts in western Ohio. He came to the Buckeye Valley Local School in 1973 as High School Principal. He was Superintendent at the Farmington Local School District in 1979 in Farmington, Ohio. Earl retired from IFS as a school fundraiser in 2003.
He was a past member of the Vintage Auto Club.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Brown; his children Gregory E. Brown and Lisa C. Parks (Lloyd), Sparta, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Rachel and Leah Parks and Molly Brown of Tennessee; brother Carl (Phyllis) Brown of Grand Rapids, Michigan, brother-in-law Wendell Taylor, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ed and Shirley Reely of Delaware, Ohio, and brother-in law Donald Rouse of San Antonio, Texas; nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Rose Brown and sister Alice Taylor.
Visitation was Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and on Monday from 12 to 1 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home where services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Wallace White officiating.
Burial will follow in Ashley Union Cemetery.
