Frances Ewing

DELAWARE - Frances Helen Carson Ewing, 97, of Delaware, died Friday, May 2, 2014, in The Sarah Moore Home.

She was born March 31, 1917 in Hardin Co. to Frank and Bessie (Livingston) Getzinger. She graduated from Kenton High School in 1935 and from the Troy School of Cosmetology in Lima in 1936. She was a Cosmetologist and an assistant in the Acquisitions Department of OWU. She was a member of NARFE, AARP, PERS, Grady Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a volunteer for the Red Cross, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary (John) Cross, Rebecca Carson, a son Frank (Melody) Carson all of Delaware; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Carson in 1972, second husband, Carl Ewing in 2001, two sisters, Evonda and Catherine and by an infant son, William Henry.

Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Robinson Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev, Patricia Stout officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Sarah Moore Home, 26 N. Union or to Hospice at Grady, 561 W. Central Ave.
