MARYSVILLE - Glen D. "Curly" Wray, 81, of Marysville, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
He was a devoted husband, dedicated father, fun-loving papa and hard-working family man. He was a longtime farmer in the New Dover area and also was manager of fabrication with Sunray Amana in Delaware. He retired from the company after serving 43 years. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also liked restoring clocks and tractors. Above all, he cherished time with his family, especially with his five granddaughters.
He was born August 5, 1932 in Mason County, West Virginia to the late Ward and Emma Crist Wray and was also predeceased by two brothers, James and Earl; a sister, Mary; and his father and mother-in-law, Leroy and Nell Leach.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Fredde Leach Wray, whom he married March 16, 1978; two daughters, Amy (Scott) Cunningham of Northfield, Minnesota and Nancy (Ernie) Clendinen of St. John, US Virgin Islands; five granddaughters, Mirisa, Aysha, Lydia, Rachel and Ciena; four sisters, Mildred Powers of Hilliard, EmmaJean Davis of Grove City, Marjorie (Willard) Long of Delaware and Wanda (Dewey) Akers of Delaware; a sister-in-law, Sophia (Jim) Draeger of Fremont; close friends, Ernie Moore of Ostrander and Bob McClintock of Marysville; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives, including three children by a previous marriage, Marcelena, Dale and Ardelia and their children.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon. Donnie Akers, pastor of Delaware Eastside Mission, will officiate and burial will be at Radnor Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Cunningham, Will Long, Scotty Akers, Denny Snodgrass, Eric Draeger and Bob McClintock.
