There will be a celebration of life gathering from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Bout Time Tavern on Lake Street in Delaware.
"I'm sorry friends that I'm not there to celebrate today. If you've all gathered reading this, I've probably passed away; If I were there I'd ask you not to cry or frown; I'd ask that you just simply say another Brother down. If I were there I'd tell you I had a wonderful life; I loved all my kids and family and especially my wife; I loved my drinkin' buddies and all my lifelong friends; I'd raise a toast to all of you, may your party never end. If I were there I'd tell you how I loved the small blue highways; How I loved the curving mountain roads, loved to ride the back road by-ways; And how I loved it "in the wind", loved it when my engine rumbled, and my biker friends that rode with me and would help me when I stumbled. You're my dearest friends, brothers of the road, we traveled many miles together, shared many heavy loads; If I were there we'd laugh and share those memories long passed, this gathering would be one more tale, another story, not our last. But today I can't be with you, except in your hearts and memories, so just please laugh and lift a glass and let your engines roar, I ask you to all smile, wipe away that silly frown, I'm off upon that final ride, another biker brother down."
