Mae Belle (Ziegler) Henry

Mae Belle (Ziegler) Henry, 94, of Delaware, Ohio formerly of Ashley, Ohio, passed away Monday(June 10, 2013) at her Willow Brook home.
Mae Belle was born May 6, 1919, in Delaware County to the late Walter Otto and Margaret (Dix) Ziegler. She lived her entire life in the Delaware and Ashley communities. She attended Brown High School and Ashley High School and graduated in 1936.
In August of 1940, she married William Forest Henry. Forest and Mae Belle owned the Ashley Royal Blue grocery in the '50s and '60s. Mae Belle then worked at the Ashley RB Powers Ribbon Factory for more than 30 years. Skilled with a needle, she enjoyed walking, and was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes. Her fried chicken and home baked pies will long be remembered.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest, her daughter Reg Henry Main, brothers Dale and Peres Ziegler and sisters Martha Ziegler Howison and Mary Etta Ziegler Ward.
She is survived by her daughter Peg (Mervin) Cabral of Pearl City, Hawaii, son-in-law John Main of Delaware; five grandchildren Tom (Allison) Main, Gina (David) Opdycke, Kyle (Steve) Cabral, Sharice (Isaac) White and Shantel (Keone) Simon; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held Friday from 1:30 – 3 p.m. at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware, where services will follow at 3 p.m., burial will then take place next to her husband in Ashley Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Willow Brook Christian Village, American Cancer Society, or Heartland Hospice Care.
