Michael R. "Mike" White

SUNBURY — Michael R. "Mike" White, 64 of Sunbury, died Wednesday March 12, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at home.

He was born on Dec. 7, 1949 in Logan, WV to the late Luther R. Jr. and Juanita (Peyton) White. He was retired from Blackstar Drywall and a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. Charter Member of the VFW Post 8736 since 1974, Commander of the Honor Guard and member of the Sunbury FOE Aerie 3614.

Mike was a hard working, respectful man, who although seemed difficult and ornery at times, was really a loving, caring, and thoughtful man. Mike had a big heart for his family and friends, and would never turn down a friend in need. He enjoyed many activities such as, fishing at Lake Erie, riding his 1973 Harley Shovelhead, bonfires, NASCAR, and hanging out with his family and friends. His competitive nature kept him involved with billiards, darts, horseshoes, and golf. Many who knew him knew he was a perfectionist at heart as well. Mike was loved and respected by many and at times there wasn't enough of him to go around. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his children: Deanna (Rusty) Godby of Galena, Luther R. (Joyce) White III of Delaware, Shari (Mike) Wilson of Sunbury; grandchildren: Samantha, Logan, Jacob, Sarah, Hannah, Justin, Julia; loving companion: Jewel Neuberger; sister: Chloe (Skylar) Ford of Newark; brother: Steve (Rhonda) White of Algeria, Africa.
