DELAWARE - Dr. Robert King Morrison Sr. of Delaware, died April 16, 2014, at Bennington Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born to Olin Dee and Anna (King) Morrison in Sterling, Kansas, on April 27, 1918. Dr. Morrison married Leanna Stephenson on March 29, 1941.
He graduated from Athens High School, Ohio University, Illinois College of Optometry and completed additional course work at Dartmouth College. He was a member of several community and optometric organizations and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Morrison established an optometric practice in Delaware in April 1946.
He is survived by children, son; Robert (Linda) Morrison of Napoleon Ohio and his children, William Morrison of Huber Heights Ohio and Michelle (Eric) Andreen Roswell Georgia, daughter; Ann (George) Saling of Powell Ohio, and their children, Shannon (Russell) Fahnestock of Littleton Colorado and Scott (Kristin) Saling of Waipahu Hawaii, son; Brent Morrison of Columbus Ohio and his daughter, Loran (Ryan) Butcher of Anchorage Alaska, son; Hugh (Bonnie) Morrison of Bedford Texas and their children, Tiffany (Adrian) Rigby of Victoria Texas and Nickolas Morrison of Kerrville Texas; and six great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife Leanna and his sisters Martha Dee (Clarence) Barber and Anna Margaret (Charles) Fulks.
Private family services will be held. Robinson Funeral Home, Delaware, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements.
