Harvey L. Garner, Ph.D., 86, of Delaware, a kind, loving, generous father and friend to all, died Sunday (March 24, 2013).
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Yvonne L. "Bonnie" Garner. Survived by children, Susan (Gary) Sommerville and H. Thomas Garner; sister, Margaret Brewer; grandchildren, Jason (Renata) Sommerville and Becca (Lee) Richards; great-grandchildren, Tobias, Zachary, Eliana and Miriam Sommerville.
Graduate of Denver University and the University of Michigan. Professor of Electrical Engineering and Communication Sciences at U of M. Dean of the Moore School of Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. Professor of engineering at The University of Texas. Veteran U.S. Navy World War II. Harvey was an avid skier and private pilot who loved classical music, bridge and lived life to the fullest.
Memorial service 2 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 7521 S. Old State Road, Lewis Center, OH 43035. Reception to follow the service.
