Thomas L. Corroto Jr., 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday (Feb. 9, 2013) at his home in Delaware.
He was born July 23, 1922, in Youngstown, to Thomas L. and Rose (Pape) Corroto.
He was a very proud graduate of Youngstown East High School and The Ohio State University, earning a degree in accounting and a jurist doctorate. After practicing law in Youngstown for 57 years, Tom reluctantly retired. He was an avid golfer (scoring four holes-in-one, one more than his son). He was past president of both Tippecanoe C.C. and The Pundersons - a loyal group of golfing couples, and a bocce champion (winner of the Sugar Palermo award). He loved fishing in Canada, growing tomatoes, and attending Ohio State football games.
He will be deeply missed by his son, Mark Corroto; daughter-in-law, Mel Corroto of Delaware; a daughter, Carla and son-in-law Paul Clarke of Baltimore, Md.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Devite) Corroto in 2000, whom he married Sept. 25, 1954; and three brothers, Robert, Anthony, and Vincent.
A memorial service will be held at noon Tuesday at Calvary Cemetery Chapel Youngstown, and a celebration of his life will take place at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Austin Manor, 95 Elizabeth St., Delaware.
