WESTERVILLE - Arthur "Art" Harold Trevethan, 67, of Westerville, formerly of Delaware, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 following a brief and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family at his home.
He was born November 5, 1946 in Wilkes Barre, PA to Elizabeth (Reese) and George Harold Trevethan.
Art graduated from Coughlin High School in 1964, and Wilkes College in 1968 where he studied Business Management. He received his MBA from the University of Dayton and achieved a CPCU designation.
He was the Director of Reinsurance for Nationwide Insurance Company in Columbus, Ohio.
Following his retirement from Nationwide Insurance, he was the CEO of Reinsurance Recovery Solutions.
He was a member of Liberty Presbyterian Church, The Central Committee for the Republican Party, The Zoning Board of Westerville City, The NRA, Hiram Masonic Lodge, and George Lewis Behrens Chapter of OES.
Art enjoyed hunting, golf, poker and was an "amateur chef" and loved traveling with his wife, Cheryl. He was community minded, politically involved and dedicated to his church. His greatest joy was his family.He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Art is survived by his wife, Cheryl whom he married on September 2, 1967; his son, Art (Heather) of Kyle, Texas; daughter, Beth (Chuck) Keener of Delaware; his grandchildren, Brendan, Regina, Declan and Margaret Trevethan and Chuck Keener; his brother, Bill (Jane) of Agawon, MA; his Uncle, Art Reese of Chattanooga, TN; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Coopey (Steve Bursky) of Pembroke Pines, Fl., and many colleagues and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home, Delaware, Ohio.
A Memorial Service will be held at Liberty Presbyterian Church on Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Rebecca Hart officiating.
