Dale Cox, 59, of Delaware, died unexpectedly Sunday (Nov. 11, 2012) at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 22, 1953, in Westerville, to the late Charles and Anna (Whitt) Cox. Dale moved to Mount Gilead in 1998 from Springhill, Fla., where he resided since 1984 and later moved to Delaware after the death of his wife, Merrie Beth. A carpenter by trade, Dale was a true jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed drag-racing and camping. While in Florida he enjoyed boating, but most of all he enjoyed being a father.
Dale is survived by his son, Alex Cox of Delaware; brothers, Sherman Cox of Chillicothe, Lewis Cox of Lancaster and Chester Cox of Sunbury; sisters, Jean Galleger of Westerville and Sarah Jane Barnes of Kentucky; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at 61, Sunbury, with a memorial service to follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Frank Crotinger officiating.
