SUNBURY - Danny W. McKenzie, 55, of Sunbury, passed away Tuesday evening April 8, 2014, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1958, in Columbus to Marion McKenzie of Sunbury and the late Ilene (Wampler) McKenzie. He was a 1977 graduate of Big Walnut High School and was employed as a Design Engineer for Liebert in Columbus. He was a member of the Sunbury Christian Church and a member of the Big Walnut Soccer Association.
Danny treasured time spent with his family and was a devoted husband and father. Danny enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. Danny was a devoted coach and mentor for over 25 years and was proud to be able to coach his daughters in soccer.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years: Shellie (Ross) McKenzie and they were married March 23, 1995; their loving daughters: Kylie and Chloe at home: Kahrman McKenzie of New Albany; father: Marion of Sunbury; sister-in-law: Brenda McKenzie of Sunbury.
Preceded in death by his mother: Ilene McKenzie on March 23, 2011; brother: James McKenzie Dec. 16, 2005.
Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury where services will be held Friday 10 a.m. with Pastor Mike Bratten officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunbury Memorial Park.
