Donald W. Innes, 92, of Delaware, died Wednesday (Dec. 26, 2012) in the Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

He was born June 27, 1920, in Portland, Maine, to Robert and Doris (Dodge) Innes. He graduated from the University of Maine where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. A resident of Delaware County since 1940, he was a civil-structural engineer with the Bridge Bureau for ODOT. He was a member of the Berlin Presbyterian Church, a Boy Scout leader and a charter member of the Orange Township Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bernice; a son , James (Pam) of Sunbury; a daughter, Margaret (Don) Mussard of Colorado; five grandchildren, Jason Innes, Mandy (Joe) Backs, Megan Innes, Sarah (Steve) Pye and Nate Mussard; four great-grandchildren, Mia Innes, Bridget Innes and Charlie and Olivia Backs; a brother Richard (Rachel) of Gorham, Maine; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a nephew, Steve, and a great-grandson, Jude Innes.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Berlin Presbyterian Church, 5175 S. Old State Road, Lewis Center, with the Rev. Rick Negley officiating. Robinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
