Donna Carter Garrett, 66, of Delaware, Ohio died Thursday (April 4, 2013) at Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Donna was born Nov. 2, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio; graduated from Linden McKinley High School in 1964; and attended Urbana University.
Donna was a Marketing Specialist and Officer of Commerce National Bank in Columbus, Ohio. Donna was an active community member for more than 35 years volunteering as a youth soccer coach, PTO President, 4-H Advisor, and child mentor. Donna was a strong Christian who loved to travel, a fabulous cook, a talented artisan and a vociferous reader.
Donna was a devoted mother to Joe Garrett of Delaware, Krystal Davis of Marion, Candy Stern of Greenville, Pa., and Michael Garrett of Delaware; loving grandmother to Brooke, Heath, and Paige Garrett, Eric McIntyre and Zoey and Joseph Stern. She was also a kind sister to four sisters and two brothers. Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred George, and her father, Gene Carter.
The family will receive friends on Friday April 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware, Ohio and where funeral services will be held Saturday April 13 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Oller Cemetery.
