Dorothy Justice, 84, of Sunbury, died Wednesday evening (Nov. 14, 2012) at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.
She was born on Jan. 10, 1928, in Sunbury to the late George "Ed" and Agnes (Jacobus) Saunders. She was a graduate of Sunbury High School Class of 1945 and retired as a cook from Big Walnut School District at Souders Elementary for 17 years. She was a 73-year member of the Condit Presbyterian Church and the Condit Friendly Club.
Dorothy loved to quilt, crochet and sew, making quilts for most of her grandchildren. A tradition of late was her reading the Night Before Christmas when the family was together for the holiday. Dorothy was always proud of her family when they would attend church with her especially on Mother's Day and she would have the greatest number of family members there.
She is survived by sons, George D. (Kathy) Justice Jr. of Sunbury, Marvin Justice of Sunbury and Kevin (Robin) Justice of Sunbury; daughters, Becky (Fred) Albright of Norwalk and Donna (Mike) Mucci of Sunbury; grandchildren, Joel (Mary Beth) Krista, Mara Lee (Vinny), Beth (Daniel) Danielle, Donivan, Nicholas, Laura Audrey and Jacob; five great-grandchildren and expected great-grandchild; and sister, Frances Wood.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, G. Donivan Justice on April 2, 1979 and they were married Jan. 22, 1950, in Sunbury; brothers, Raymond and George Saunders; and sisters, Louise Stark, Ethel Swick, Mildred Morton, Erma Clawson and Florence Saunders.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at 61, Sunbury. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Condit Presbyterian Church, 15102 Hartford Road, Sunbury, Ohio 43074 with the Rev. John Zuercher officiating. Interment will follow in the Trenton Cemetery.
