Dorothy Mae Scheidweiler, 91, of Delaware and formerly of Greenville, passed away early Friday (Dec. 28, 2012) at the Countryview of Sunbury.
She was born May 31, 1921 in Corning, N.Y., to Thomas and Helen (Skelley) Ketchum. She worked in the office for Corning Glass and enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and making Halloween costumes for her grandkids and great-grandkids. She also was notorious for her sugar cookies, which always seemed to cause a few arguments.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her three granddaughters, Beth (Phillip) Born of Delaware, Holly (Trever) Mock of Mount Vernon, and Kathy (Chad) Hood of Clarksville, Tenn.; five great-grandchildren, Paige (Gregg) Moore, Alex Born, Mason and Zoe Mock, and Drake Hood; two great-great-grandchildren, Hayden and Aubree Moore; and special niece, Hannah White.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip; daughter, Phylis Bunten; and son-in-law, Chris Bunten.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at Greenville Union Cemetery in Greenville, Ohio.
Contributions in Dorothy's memory may be made to HomeReach Hospice, 561 W. Central Ave., Delaware, OH 43015.
The family would like to thank the staff at Countryview of Sunbury for their wonderful care and concern during Dorothy's stay.
