Evelyn Maxine Sparks, 70, of Radnor, died Thursday (Jan. 3, 2013) at Marion General Hospital.
She was born April 5, 1942, in Marion to the late Eugene Wilber and Esther Mae (Robins) Williams. She was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church in Marion. Evelyn had worked for 12 years at Goodwill Industries in Marysville and Delaware. She had also worked at Oakland Nursery in Delaware and prior to that at Uhlman's in Marion. She was formerly a hairdresser in the Marion area. Evelyn loved going to the drag races and going boating. She also enjoyed taking care of her flowers and gardening.
On Sept. 2, 1977, she married Harold R. Sparks in Mansfield and he survives. She is also survived by two brothers, Michael B. (Sandy) Williams of LaRue and Eugene W. (Ruth) Williams Jr. of Crestline; a brother-in-law, Jay P. (Martha) Sparks of Radnor; two sisters-in-law, Barbara (Richard) Birchfield of Delaware and Marjorie Crisswell of Prospect; and numerous nephews and nieces and great-nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect, with the Rev. Ralph Velazco. Burial will follow in Radnor Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Prospect.
