Jack R. Knapp, of Delaware, passed peacefully to his eternal life Monday (Feb. 11, 2013).
Jack lived his life with such kindness. He simply was liked by everyone he met. Jack's one and only career after college was banking, starting in Detroit, then Baltimore and continuing in Columbus, most recently at Chase Bank, where he worked for 12 years. As a banker, he always gave his best to his customers. He grew up in New Hudson and South Lyon, Mich., where he built elementary school friendships that lasted throughout his life. He graduated from Ferris State University and was a member of Delta Sigma Phi. Jack loved the great Michigan outdoors, golfing, tending to his pond, birdfeeding, working in the yard, the Blue Jackets and the companionship of his pets.
He was the father of Mark (Paige) Knapp of Rocky River, Ohio; Lisa Knapp (Flemming Budolfsen) of Aalborg, Denmark; and Tina Knapp (Johnny Frandsen) of Frederikshavn, Denmark; grandfather to Marcus, Liv Sofie, Emma, Silja, Jonas and Selma; husband of 34 years to Krista Heins; son of Geraldine Knapp and late father Franklin Junior Knapp; brother of Gerald Knapp and Paul Knapp; and uncle to 15 nephews and nieces.
We are so thankful for our kind and generous neighbors who helped us through this difficult time. Memorial gifts may be sent to Canine Companions for Independence (cci.org).
