June Morgan Hoyt, 78, passed away Saturday (Jan. 5, 2013) at Willow Brook Christian Village in Delaware.
She was born on March 12, 1934, in New Berlin, N.Y., to the late Clifford L. and Laura Sponable Morgan, and was a 1952 graduate of Ithaca High School, New York. Prior to retirement, she worked as executive secretary to Dale Corson, president of Cornell University in Ithaca, and later for the American Guernsey Cattle Club in Columbus. June had been a resident of Delaware for almost 40 years. She served as secretary to the board of directors of the Sarah Moore Foundation for 27 years. She was a collector of practical American antiques, a knowledgeable gardener, and in her younger days an avid golfer and bowler.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved children daughters, Martha Collacchi of Ithaca, N.Y., and Laure Dickens of Norwich, N.Y.; stepdaughter, Cynthia Cummings (Robert) of Endicott, N.Y.; and stepson, Stephen (Hope) Hoyt of Ithaca; grandchildren, Jeremy Shutts, Joshua Shutts, Naomi Shutts, Micky Collacchi and Michael Collacchi; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mary "Betsy" Cunningham of Ithaca, and brother, Clifford (Sheila) Morgan of Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Rodger Hoyt, in June of 2005.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, in the Terrace Room of Willow Brook Christian Village, 100 Willow Brook Way S, Delaware, where Celebrant Don Lockwood will officiate.
