Margaret R. "Rosie" Thompson, 76, of Delaware, passed away Monday (Feb. 18, 2013) at Grady Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Rosie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was born Oct. 6, 1936, in Plain City to the late Florence (Clark) and Charles Meaige. Strong-willed and independent, she was never afraid to speak her mind. At times, she was a prankster. She enjoyed attending garage sales and flea markets. Rosie loved to take photos of family - in fact, tons and tons of photos. Always dependable, she put the needs of her family before her own. She considered her family her greatest treasure and was happiest when in their company.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 48 years, Charles L. Thompson Sr.; daughters, Jerri Walker of Plain City, Teri (Rod) Urton of Wilmington; son, Brian (Debbie) McLean; daughter, Charlene Bowens (Charles Ladd); son, Charles (Lisa) Thompson Jr., all of Delaware; grandchildren, Brandy Sandoval (Juan Herrera) of Columbus, Shawn Bierce (Michelle Weaver), Tommy Miller, all of Delaware, Shane (Jen) Hall of San Clemente, Calif., Charles L. Thompson III (Lindsey Basich), Dilon Thompson, Kevin Bowens, Jami Deel, Sandra Thompson, all of Delaware, Jason (Maggie) Walker, Jared Walker (Wendy Fisher) A.J. (Sarah) Walker, Jacob (Stephanie) Walker, C.J. Pace, all of Plain City, Charles Ladd Jr. of Delaware, Robert Barker Jr., Rodney Urton, Tara McConnell. She is also the precious great-grandmother of Taylor, Tori, Emily, Grace, Gabrrielle Walker, Hayla Francis, Alexa Walker, Luke and Lillian Walker, Sierra, Brooklyn and baby boy Walker, David Howell, Natalee and Franklin Sandoval, Martha and Baby Twins Herrera, Anna and Lillian Ladd, William Bierce, Branden, Julian, Haven and Colleena Ladd, Audrey Hall, Abigial Thompson, and Brendan and Alairah McConnell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Robinson; granddaughter, Patricia Jo Walker; and great-grandson, Joseph Walker.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware, where services will follow 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Donnie Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
