Marian Delores Cowgill, 82, of Richwood, died peacefully Saturday morning (Feb. 16, 2013) at her home.
She was born July 31, 1930, in Muncie, Ind., to the late James Irvin and Edna Ethel (McCreary) Laulis. On Oct. 18, 1952, she married Max Reece Cowgill in Kenton, who preceded her in death April 2, 1998. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and cousin. She had love and compassion for family and community. She was a den leader, Girl Scout leader, 4-H advisor and was involved in many other groups in her lifetime, including Carpe Diem, Senior Center, Senior Kazoo Band, Union County 1st Families and Union County Genealogy, to name a few. She was a member of the Fulton Creek Friends Church. Marian was an author and singer and loved to play cards, dice and do crossword puzzles. She enjoyed traveling and took many trips with family and friends. She loved to serve people and had a beautiful smile.
She is survived by her children, Diane Cowgill, Magnetic Springs, Kirt Cowgill of Magnetic Springs, Annette (Mark Junker) Beachy of Marysville; grandchildren, Jason Keigley of Indianapolis, Ind., Kimberly (D. J.) Plotner of Marion, Jesse Cowgill of Magnetic Springs, Israel (Rachel) Beachy of Nashville, Tenn, Sylas Beachy of Plain City, Noah Beachy of Plain City, Elisha Beachy of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Detri and Chase Plotner of Marion, and Scarlett Beachy of Nashville, Tenn.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date at the Price Cemetery.
