DELAWARE - Patricia Ann Foley, 91, of Delaware, passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Willow Brook Christian Village in Delaware.
Born on Feb. 10, 1922, she was one of four children born to the late John F. and Catherine (Millea) Foley. A graduate of St. Mary High School in 1939, she then attended Bliss College Business School. For over 40 years, she worked as a secretary for the Central Ohio Paper Company in Columbus, retiring in 1987.
A woman of abiding faith, she was a member of St. Mary Church in Delaware. She cheerfully served the church in a number of capacities, especially in the church office. She also volunteered for People In Need. Pat traveled extensively to Ireland to visit the lands of her ancestry, as well as Italy, Alaska, and the Panama Canal. Friendly in nature and with an outgoing personality, she was happiest traveling or enjoying the company of friends and family. She will be remembered for her warm smile and deep faith.
She is survived by her extended family of nieces and nephews: William J. McNamara, Katherine Barkhurst, Allen Stoffel, Neal Stoffel, Anne Schaumleffel, Barbara McEntire, first cousin Margie Mattews of Delaware, 13 grand nieces and nephews, a host of great-grand nieces and nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
Pat was also preceded in death by her sisters Anna M. McNamara in 2003, Catherine Stoffel in 2012, and infant brother John.
Friends may call 2-5 p.m. with a 2:30 Vigil of Prayer Service, Sunday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware. Mass of Christian Burial will held 12 p.m. noon Monday at St. Mary Church, 82 E. William St., Delaware. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
