Robert E. "Gene" Glendening, 88, of Delaware, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013. He was born November 23, 1924 in Woodstock, Ohio to Bob and Irma Glendening.
He grew up in Marysville, graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry. Gene opened his first practice in Richwood. Upon returning from the Army, he practiced General Dentistry in Delaware for 50 years until his retirement in 1989.
He is survived by three daughters; Debra, Amy and Cynthia Glendening; 5 grandchildren, Sara DeKam, Doug and Brett Hemans, Rachel and Hannah Gottlieb; 4 great grandchildren. Gene was preceded in death by his wife Midge and son Brad.
Many knew him as "Doc". He treated "generations" of patients and their families. The love for his own family was only rivaled by his affinity for golf and storytelling.
A Celebration of Life gathering is planned for September 28th at Willowbrook at Delaware Run, 100 Delaware Crossing West, Delaware, OH from 12:00 – 3:00 pm.
