Rosemary Jean (Kelley) McGrew, 94, of Delaware, parted from her loved ones on Earth to be with the Lord on Tuesday (Dec. 4, 2012) at Grady Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 7, 1917, in Delaware to Samuel and Susie (Longhenry) Kelley. She was a nurturing, loving, and strong mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Those who knew and loved her know that Rosemary always put her family first and supported her four children she happily had with Harold McGrew, who died in 1987. When her children had grown and had their own children, Rosemary continued to support her grandchildren, in some cases she was like a mother. In her free time, Rosemary enjoyed watching her TV shows while also listening to a Cincinnati Reds ballgame on the radio. She also loved crossword and word search puzzles, country and bluegrass music, cooking, traveling, camping, and watching NASCAR races. Rosemary was a gentle, straightforward, with a touch of humor woman. Her loving spirit will be carried on in the wonderful memories she helped make.
Rosemary will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but especially by her children, Charles of Delaware, Janet (Kenny) Powell of Cardington and Philip (Dee) McGrew of Delaware; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Perry in 2004, and a sister, Ruth Adeline Kelley.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Marlboro Cemetery.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Wintersong Village Nursing Home, 478 S. Sandusky St., Delaware, OH 43015.
The Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center is honored to serve the McGrew family and condolences may be expressed and memories shared by visiting snyderfuneralhomes.com.
