Teddy Chafin

ASHLEY - Teddy C. Chafin, 54, of Ashley, died Wednesday Jan. 1, 2014, at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.

He was born on April 15, 1959, to Rupert Clark (Patricia) Chafin of Toledo and Dorothy (Hatfield) Chafin of Double Camp, WV. He was a retired foreman for the railroad and a member of the North American Hunting Assoc. and Professional Bowling Assoc.

Teddy enjoyed the outdoors and anything associated with it. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and cooking out. Teddy was a Mr. Mom who loved to cook and made BBQ ribs, taco salad, veggie soup and corn bread pudding along with other things. He loved to tinker with his lawn mower and in his garage. Teddy loved see a smile on his children's faces and loved being a practical joker.

He is survived by his children: Jason Chafin, Tiffany (Rory) Randolph, Dustin (Ashley) Chafin, Amanda Payne, Holly "Pickle" Chafin, Alyssa Brook Chafin, William "Tee" (Staci) Payne, Allen Chafin, Jennifer (Philip) Chafin, Miranda Chafin; 12 grandchildren; brothers: David Chafin, Rodney Justice; sisters: Dottie Bowen, Debbie; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and numerous friends.

Preceded in death by wife: Mary Angela (Hunter) Chafin on March 6, 2012; brother: Andy Chafin.

Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury where services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in the Ashley Union Cemetery.
