Violet Lucille Ferko Belisle, 93, of Delaware, passed on Tuesday (Dec. 4, 2012).
Lucille was born in Galena on March 28, 1919, the seventh of 14 children, to William and Gertrude Rhoads. She became a Jehovah's Witness in 1975 and remained faithful until her death. She was fondly known as "Lolly" to grandchildren and many others. Lucille was a loving mother and sister who loved to laugh and enjoyed life with her large family and many friends who loved her.
She is survived by her eight children, Jim Martin, Dick (Gisala) Martin, Steve (Bert) Martin, June Lett and partner Mick Elliott, Miriam and Cecil Newell, Linda Matthews, Vicki Ferko and Susie Ferko; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Dorothy Stiles, Juanita Walter, Opal Norgren and Erma Moon.
She was preceded in death by nine siblings.
A very special thanks to our longtime family/friend JoAnn Martin for her many years of love, compassion and devotion to Lucille. Thank you to The Sarah Moore Home employees who gave her kind and loving care since November 2004.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Kingdom Hall on Baker Road.
