Virginia Marie Adams, 93, of Sunbury, passed away Friday afternoon (Nov. 9, 2012) at the Wintersong Village Nursing Facility, Delaware.
She was born Aug. 12, 1919 in Louisa, Ky., to Charley Hale and Fannie (Ball) Hale. She worked for Nestle, Kilgore and Milpar and was a member of the Delaware Eagles #376 and the Sunbury VFW #8736. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a very loving mother and grandmother who always had a smile on her face, and she always made sure to take your picture every time you walked through her door.
Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Irene Silcox of Gibson, Tenn., Patty Price of Delaware, Penny (Roger) Smith of Sunbury, and Roxie (Jerry) Semon of Sunbury; 13 grandchildren, Bud, Patty, Jackie, Billie Sue, Misty, Beth, Jesse, Richard, Rhonda, Kimberly, Jeanie, Joe, and Casey; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special sister-in-law, Maggie Hale of Sunbury.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Isaac Adams; a son, Earl; a granddaughter, Virginia "Sis" Wallace; five brothers, Warren, Jim, Charles, Junior, and Teddy Hale; and two sisters, Rosa Hale and Mary Clark.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 at the Devore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 Ohio 61, Sunbury, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15. Burial will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park Cemetery.
